Having spent over 25 years in the music industry as a producer, sound engineer, touring musician, and studio owner, Dave is an expert in his field. His drive and ambition coupled with his real world experience, means he is incredibly knowledgeable on all aspects of music production including; recording studio design, studio management, audio gear and software, recording, mixing mastering, music event management and music promotion.
He is regularly contacted for advice and mentoring by both musicians and producers, and has contributed to IGNITE and Play It Strange as a mentor. For the last three years, Dave has been mentoring students at Mercury Bay Area School in music production, as part of the Creatives In Schools initiative (2022, 2023, 2024).

He is also the key sponsor and guest judge for the Ding Dong Lounge annual band competition, and was a mentor for the Music Producers Guild NZ’s Āmio Mentoring programme.
Dave offers consulting and mentoring as part of his freelance business, which can be arranged either virtually (via Zoom) or in person anywhere in New Zealand (including at his studio in Whitianga) or overseas.
